Milano - San Remo Donne 2026: The Route
After leaving Genoa, the riders follow the Mediterranean coast from kilometre zero. There are no climb until the three capi appear after just over 105 kilometres. Capo Berta is the last one and 17 kilometres later the Cipressa serves op 5.5 kilometres at an average gradient of 4.1%. Nothing of note happened of those slopes last year.
After the descent of the Cipressa, it is 8 kilometres to the foot of the Poggio di Sanremo. The climb rises for 3.7 kilometres at an average of 3.7%, with the steepest section – at around 8% – coming roughly 1 kilometre from the summit. Last year, Juliette Labous, Kasia Niewiadoma and Kimberley Le Court attempted to break away on the Poggio, but without success.
From the Poggio, the riders plunge for 3.3 kilometres towards San Remo, after which the final 2.2 kilometres are flat. Last year, Elisa Longo Borghini launched an attack right after the descent and Lotte Kopecky sacrificed her own chances to lead the chase in support of her teammate Lorena Wiebes. Inside the final 300 metres, she almost made contact when Marianne Vos opened the sprint, but Wiebes reacted sharply and powered past to take a convincing victory.
Milano-San Remo Donne starts at 10:35 and is expected to finish at around 14:30 - both local times (CET).
